Hidden History Museum

Woni Spotts, born in Los Angeles in 1964, is the first verified Black woman to travel to every country and continent in the world.

Recently, a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time wanted to get together to see something new, so I looked at my saved map on Google & we decided on the Hidden History Museum

The museum is FREE. You read that right. F R E E! Though it is on the smaller side, it will still take you some time to walk through as there are a lot of super amazing people to read about.

Founded by Tariq Nasheed, the museum explores some very cool, interesting, and untold stories of Black people. A lot of the stories really caught my eye. Here are just a few. I don’t want to post too many because I want you to see for yourself!

Since I love travel, I love that I now know about Woni Spotts, who is the “First Black Woman to Travel to Every Country & Continent.” I can now follow her adventures as she posts them. Click her name to link to her Instagram!

Bobby Hemmitt, teacher of the occult & esoteric worlds at SAAMR. Their clauses start with, “Our mission is to fix the systemic issues that have caused much of the world to ignore, misidentify, or otherwise misattribute, directly or indirectly, intentionally or non-intentionally, the achievements and contributions of the African civilizations both ancient and modern.”  I strongly recommend perusing this organization’s site. Mr. Bobby Hemmitt also has a YouTube channel.

I’m always aghast at how history was and still is taught vs. what actually happened. If you look here https://brethrencoast.com/pirate/Laurens_de_Graff.html it appears this pirate is a white man. But he was actually not. Here, let me just share the picture.

I fully recommend adding this tiny museum to your agenda!
